I awoke this morning from a dream about a friend's wedding. As the bride walked down the aisle in wedding dress and combat boots, she asked everyone to be sure to have the cake because it was her favorite - marshmallow cherry danish with chocolate sauce.
This is the kind of food that only appears in a dream.
A quick check in the dream dictionary for interpretation yields that dessert is associated with enjoying life, cherry is honesty, truthfulness or sweetness, chocolate is indulgence and marshmallows are undefined, but candy means joyfulness. Boots mean taking a firm stance, seeing someone else in a wedding dress indicates feelings of inferiority and being a guest indicates a problem of a temporary nature. Since any or all of these feelings could be happening to me at any given time, I say....
Whatever.
What's important here is whether or not a marshmallow cherry danish with chocolate sauce would taste good in real life. While it may not be wedding worthy, I think it has potential. For the brave souls out there following this blog, try baking puff pastry with dark cherry jam, while still warm, top with mini-marshmallows, chocolate sauce and a little kirsch. Set it on fire. It could be the dessert of your dreams.

Have you thought about making marshmallows for the dessert?
Actually, that's probably beyond my skills. I am a lousy baker and confectioner. However, Hildy, if you know how to make marshmallows, please share! Our readers want to know!
