Juicy Chiken How-To FAQ

It has come to my attention that some of you readers (I know you are out there, just not commenting) have questions about the nature of the Juicy Chiken blog. Here are the answers to some frequently asked questions (well, not really frequent, at least, not yet):

What Is This Blog Thing Anyway?
A blog is an interactive web-based publication. It's short for "web log". A blog can contain text, pictures, video, just like a web page. A blog is arranged by entry (or "posts") and may allow readers to leave their own comments (also called posts), thus forming an online community. For more information, do a Wiki search on blogs.

How Do I Comment On Juicy Chiken Posts?
Under each post, you will see a link for commenting. It looks like an envelope. Click there. It will say "e-mail post." Type your text in the box. Send your comment. Then I will see it. And so will everyone else who reads my blog. So be nice. Otherwise, send me an e-mail (see below). Anonymous posting is not allowed on this blog, so if you don't want your true identity revealed, get a gmail account and make up a name (like juicy chiken or clever gretel) or learn how to post under an alias.

Can I Send Clever Gretel An E-Mail?
Yes, you can. And I will answer you. My address is under my profile on the left side of the blog, but here it is again: juicychiken@gmail.com

The e-mail name Clever Gretel was actually taken by another g-mail user, so I could not use that as the blog's address. If you send e-mail to Clever Gretel and get a hooker in Amsterdam, keep me out of the loop.

Should I Post Comments And What Should I Post?
Yes. I need you to post. I want you to post. Otherwise, I don't know you are there, unless you subscribe to the feed (see below) and then I know you're there, I just don't know who you are. When you post, you help build the Juicy Chiken community by sharing your stories, expertise and recipes. When you publish, you can influence the content of the blog. You could also inspire me and other readers. You could change the world! Well, maybe that's overselling.

What Happens If I Subscribe?
Juicy Chiken provides a subscription feed through Feed Burner. That means if you are using a blog reader, like Google reader, you automatically get Juicy Chiken updates when I post. I am using a reader called Blogrover that is a Mozilla plug-in.

To get a subscription, click the orange icon that says Subscribe Now In A Reader and follow the directions. This is another one of those things you should Wiki to find out more about.

Hopefully, if you subscribe, The Master won't cut off your ears. You'll become a more inspired cook or writer or somehow your life will be better because you're part of the Juicy Chiken community. There are no guarantees, however.

What Is The Survey?
Blogger, the host of Juicy Chiken, allows bloggers to post surveys. If you answer the survey on the left, only I see the answers. There is no marketing information about you given away. It's just something fun that I am using to learn more about the readers who are visiting the blog. You may propose future surveys to me via email or post.

How Often Is There New Content?
At least once a week, I post something. When I'm on a roll, I post more. If I'm not going to post for awhile, I will let you fair readers know. Hint: If you post to the blog, I will be inclined to post more because I won't be working in a vacuum anymore.
