Party Meatballs, Oh Boy!

The answer to the question "Whatever did we do before Google?" can be found in this post.

Because it's the holiday season (still - how long has this been going on?), the folks at my local Trader Joe's have been pushing a variation on the ubiquitous holiday staple - Swedish meatballs - at the sample counter. It's simple and tasty:
  • one bag TJ's party size meatballs
  • tomato red pepper soup-in-a-box
  • TJ's excellent, tho pricey, cranberry relish (see the blog entry on homemade cranberry sauce to save a few pennies)
  • a dash of dijon mustard.
Mix in desired quantity. Warm through. Recipe done. For a lower-fat variation, use TJ's turkey meatballs.

Before you think I'm wasting your valuable time (since you should be working) and electricity (even if it's your employer's nickel), I have insight for you on Swedish meatballs. A quick Google search reveals that they are of Swedish origin, typically appear on smorgasborgs and are usually made of whatever leftover meat and binding are around. The Google search also uncovered the following amusing and useful links:
